ABOUT MYSELF

You will learn to speak about yourself and your family, use the

Present Simple and Past Simple tenses, and pronouns at a more

advanced level. You will do some exercises to improve your speaking,

reading, listening and writing skills.

1. Memorize the following words and expressions:

1) to have a try – пробовать

ABOUT MYSELF

It is not easy to speak about oneself but I’ll have a try. My name is Anna.

I am seventeen years old. I am a blond girl with long wavy hair and green

eyes. I’m rather tall and slim. As for my character, I’m kind-hearted, modest

and very sociable but I never show off.

My friends say I have a good sense of humour. I think I take after my

father as far as my personal traits are concerned.

I was born on the 26th of May. I live with my parents and my elder sister.

My family is very closely-knit. We get on well and always spend weekends

together – we watch TV or go to the countryside. I am very fond of animals –

I’ve got a cat and a dog.

Now I am a first-year student at Izhevsk State Medical Academy. I

have a lot of new friends there. We take part in various activities. That’s

great, but at the end of the week I get tired because I have to wake up

very early.
