Phonic Rules
1. a) Memorize the phonic rules:
Буквосочетанияie иei читаются [i:]: field [f:ld] поле, область , niece
[ni:s] племянница; receive [ri’si:v] получать , chief [t∫i:f] главный.
b) Read the words. Make up 5 word combinations of your own:
Piece, brief, seize, thief, ceiling, deceive, believe, shield, thievery, siege,
teil, wield, diesel.
2. a) Memorize the phonic rules:
1). Буквосочетание ou обычно читается [au]: house [haus] дом , sound
[saund] звук. Но: should [∫ud], could [kud].
2). Буквосочетание ow обычно читается в середине слова как [au],
в конце слова как [əu]: town [taun] город, brown [braun] коричневый,
window [’windəu] окно, snow [snəu] снег. Но: now [nau], how [hau].
b) Read the words. Divide them into two groups: 1) having sound
[au], 2) having sound [əu]:
Round, outside, loud, down, power, row, grow, rainbow, elbow, powder,
about, boundary, slow, low, show, below, found, mouth, count, South, bowel,
cloud, pound, mountain.
3. a) Memorize the phonic rules:
Буквосочетание oa читается [əu]: road [rəud] дорога, сoat [kəut]
пальто; оболочка.
b) Read the words. Make up 5 word combinations of your own:
Boat, soap, toast, throat, foam, moan, coach, goat, load, soak, goal, roast,
toad, float, roam, shoal, boast, coal.
