of various designs, rollers for hands and feet (instead of rollers, you can use

conventional pillows), supports for feet;

• do not use an uneven mattresses and boards;

• use foam rubber in the case instead of cotton-gauze and rubber circles;

2. Check the condition of the skin, examining it daily. When dry, use

moisturizing nourishing creams, especially in places of possible future bedsores.

Apply drying powder to the places where the skin is particularly sweating,. Use

protective creams. Do not massage in the area of protruding bone areas, as it is

possible to violate the integrity of the skin.

3. Keep the skin clean. At least two times a day (if necessary, more often)

to wash or wipe the skin with warm boiled water, especially carefully to wash

the places of possible formation of bedsores, using soft or liquid soap, 10%

solution of camphor alcohol, salicylic alcohol solution.

4. Monitor the condition of the bed and underwear of patients (it can be

done when the patient changes position):

• promptly change wet, contaminated linen;

• regularly straighten the folds on the underwear, shake off the crumbs from

the bed after each meal.

1 and 2 stage pressure ulcers treated with sterile physiological solution,

solutions, improves circulation (0.5% ammonia solution, 1% solution of salicylic

alcohol), possibly UV – irradiation, film, hydrogel, and silver-containing dressing

(argocream, argogel). In stage 3 and 4 treatment is surgical only.

The sequence of actions in supplying of bedpan to the patient

(men, in addition to the bedpan, are served with a urinal.)

1. Put on gloves.

2. Seal off the patient with a screen.

3. Rinse the bedpan with warm water, leaving some water in it.

4. Move your left hand under the sacrum from the side, helping to the patient

to lift the pelvis. The patient’s legs should be bent at the knees.

5. Place an oil-skin under the patient’s pelvis.

6.

With your right hand, move the bedpan under the patient’s buttocks so

that the perineum became above the opening of the bedpan.

7. Cover the patient with a blanket and leave him alone for a while.

8. After defecation, remove the bedpan with your right hand, while helping

the patient lift the pelvis with your left hand.
