Check the integrity and expire date of the ampoule with drugs, find out

whether the ampoule needs to be opened by saw.

2. Shake the ampoule so that the drug is in its large part.

3. Saw the ampoule with the ampoule saw in the absence of a special mark –

a point or a circle on the neck of the ampoule. Treat the neck of the ampoule in

a circle with a gauze ball, moistened with an antiseptic solution.

4. Hold the ampoule with one hand on the wide part with the mark from

yourself. Wrap the head of the ampoule with a gauze ball by the second hand.

Press by the middle phalanx of the index finger over the mark, and by the pad

of the thumb to the neck, open the ampoule in one motion at the first attempt.

5. Dispose of the ampoule head with the ball in an unbreakable class B waste

container.

6. Put the opened ampoule on the working area of the table.

7. Take the previously prepared syringe for the cylinder by one hand. Hold

the needle cannula with your thumb and index finger. Remove the needle cap by

the second hand. Dispose the cap to a class A waste bag.

8. Hold the syringe for the cylinder with one hand with the needle down.

Submerge the needle into the ampoule standing on a table (not touching the

ampoule). Take the ampoule between the index and middle fingers second hand

(after immersion of the needle in the vial).

9. Holding the ampoule, fix the cannula of the needle with the thumb and

ring fingers of the second hand. Move the fingers of the first hand from the

cylinder to the piston.

10. Performing traction of the piston, to gain medications in the syringe.

Dispose of empty ampoule to an unbreakable class B waste container (Fig.18).
