THEME 1:

THE VALUE OF NURSING. EQUIPMENT AND THE RE-

GIME OF THE MEDICAL INSTITUTION. GENERAL SANITARY-

AND-EPIDEMIOLOGIC REGIME INTHE THERAPYDEPARTMENT.

ADMITTING DEPARTMENT OF A HOSPITAL

Purpose:

to get acquainted with the work of the admissions office and the

therapeutic Department of the hospital.

As a result of studying the topic, the student must know:

1. The purpose and objectives of General care.

2. The role of medical staff in the treatment, care of patients.

3. Functional duties and tasks of the nurse and junior medical personnel.

4. Legal responsibility of the medical worker.

5. Types of medical institutions.

6. The work of the admitting Department, admission of patients and their

registration.

7. Personal hygiene of medical personnel (hand treatment, appearance,

individual wardrobes).

8. The concept of treatment and protective regime, its elements

and importance for the patient. Types of moving activity.

9. Types of transportation of the patient to the ward.

the student must be able to do:

1. Measure the growth of the patient.

2. Weigh the patients.

3. Carry out transportation of the patient.

4. Make wet cleaning in the ward, procedure room.

5. Accompany a patient from the admissions office.

Content of training material

Medical health care institutions are divided into two groups by their

functions: outpatient (ambulatory) and inpatient ones. Ambulatory institutions

are out-patient department, dispensaries, ambulance station, women consulting

centers, patients visit the doctor, have some diagnostic and treating procedures

trere. Hospitals, clinics, maternity hospitals, sanatoria are inpatient ones, there

patients stay when they need permanent following-up.

Any hospital consists of the main divisions: admission office, medical and

diagnostic departments and administrative and economic part.
