to GOST, there is no number on page 1 (title page), but when counting, this

page is taken into account.

2.3. Footnote references on each page or in the text are given in square

brackets and include the number of the source in the list of references and the

number of the page cited. Continuous numbering is used for all illustrations,

tables and graphs; those of a large volume are placed in the appendix.

Appendices are numbered in the upper right corner, e. g. “Appendix No. I”.

Applications are numbered in Roman numerals, along with the main text of

the work; their number is not included in the volume of the paper.

2.4. The structure of the work should include: the title page, the table of

contents, the introduction, the main part, the conclusion, references (list of

the used sources), and appendices.

3. THE TASK: CARRY OUT THE INDIVIDUAL WORK

IN MS WORD 2013 TEXT EDITOR

3.1. Creating and saving the document

Open a new document (

Start > Programs > Microsoft Word

). Save the

document under the name

Paper

 in your folder, using the command

File

tab

> Save As

, select the file type in the format of a text document.

3.2. Adjusting the formatting ribbon

The ribbon consists of several tabs (

File, Home, Insert, Page layout,

References

, etc.). Each tab contains a certain set of tools, for example, the

Home

tab contains the

Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles

(Fig. 1), when

you click on the small arrow in the lower-right corner, the Dialog Box is

opened. The ribbon can be adjusted, i. e. a group of commands can be added

or deleted using commands

Configure Ribbon > Word Options.
