Academic achievement is one of the most important factors in selection of students, as the dental course demands a lot of hard work. An ap‑ plicant has to prove his interest in dentistry, outline his practical experience, special achievements, interests, responsibilities and practical skills. If an applicant has such hobbies as creative art, playing the piano or some other musical instrument or engrav‑ ing, that means that he has some manual dexterity. As a good dentist needs skillful hands, these hobbies are viewed favourably by admission tutors. Besides, any applicant must know something about dentistry. They must have at least one week of some kind of experience or observing in a dental practice, dental hospital or dental laboratory. Even a very short period of some kind of medical experience is an additional plus for an applicant in dentistry.
