Izhevsk State Medical Academy I’m a frst-year student of Izhevsk State Medical Academy, the Faculty of Dentistry. This is not the oldest faculty of the Academy, it was organized in 1980. At the time Izhevsk State Medical Institute was founded in 1933 there was only one faculty, the Faculty of General Medicine, nowadays there are four more faculties: the Faculty of Pediatrics (opened in 1975), the Faculty of Stomatology, the Faculty of Advanced Studies for Doctors (founded in 1991) and the Faculty of Pre-academic Training for applicants (founded in 1992). In fact, our academy is a large center providing undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, certifcation, upgrading and vocational training for medical personnel, research work. About two thousand and fiv hundred students study at the Academy. There are three buildings for stud‑ ies with classrooms, laboratories, and lecture halls in the Academy where students can have classes, seminars and lectures. The library provides students with textbooks, handbooks and manuals. Internet is also available. Students can join one of the Students’ Scientifc Societies. You may choose Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Dental Therapy, Oral Surgery or any other available according to your interest and ability. I believe this offers some advantages, for example you have better chance to get to know more other students and may get a better mark at your exam.
