Recurrent fever Wave-like fever : there is an alternation of a constant temperature rise over several days with its gradual fall to normal and less than normal, followed by a period without fever. Then again the temperature rises and gradually decreases. It can observed in lymphogranulomatosis, brucellosis (Fig.7). Fig. 7. Wave-like fever Wrong fever : characterized by the absence of patterns of fluctuation during the day. It is typical for rheumatism, endocarditis, sepsis, tuberculosis (Fig.8). Perverted fever : characterized by the rise of the morning temperature higher in than the evening. It occurs in pulmonary tuberculosis, sepsis (Fig.9). Hectic (debilitating) fever – temperature rise during the day at 2–4 °C with a rapid fall to normal and below, accompanied by debilitating weakness and sweating (Fig.10). Repeated 2–3 times per day.
