Each movement is repeated at least 5 times. Treatment of hands is carried out within 30 s‑1 min. Rooms where the injections are per- formed should be equipped with « anti- AIDS » first aid kits and emergency medical kits (Fig.17): In performing the manipulations it is necessary to continuously apply the funds of personal protection: • single-time rubber gloves; • protective glasses or face shields; • individual facial masks; • laminated robe; • vacuum systems for blood sampling (vacutainer). Manipulation is always carried out in gloves (not sterile), that must be worn before the possibility of exposure to unsafe environment (or the patient’s environment) on the hands of staff (before using antiseptic for watering gauze balls and/or opening alcohol wipes). Do not use the same pair of gloves in contact with two or more patients. It is not allowed to treat hands with antiseptic in gloves and further work in them. During the manipulation of the patient staff should not keep records, touch the handset, etc. The sequence of actions in performing injections I. to prepare for the procedure 1. Identify the patient, introduce yourself, explain the course and purpose of the procedure. Make sure that the patient has informed consent to the upcoming procedure of drug administration and its tolerability. In case of the absence of it to discuss further action with a doctor. 2. Prepare all the necessary before the manipulation: Box with sterile balls (bix), the glass with sterile forceps in opened (not more than 2 hours ago) sterile package, sterile packed sterile tray, non-sterile gloves, single-time syringe with needle, extra needle, ampoule or vial with the drug, venous tourniquet, skin antiseptic solution, bandages, single-time cloth, pillow under elbow, scissors, fixed package for disposal waste of class A, fixed package for waste disposal of class B, non-stick container for waste disposal of class B.
