18 READING 6. Now read the letters that professors of the academy have written to you. Put a tick ( ✔ ) in the table if the idea is presented in the letter. Put a cross (х) if the idea is not presented in the letter. Letter 1. Dear students, I am eager to congratulate you on the new stage of your life. You have taken an important decision and chosen one of the most noble professions. I firmly believe that a doctor is not only a highly qualified specialist but also a person who keeps being humane in any life situation. I understand that now you feel thrilled, nervous, and over- whelmed at the same time. I have no doubts that you will get used to your new life conditions quite soon. My advice to you is to build respectful and trustworthy relationship with your groupmates. I have noticed that close-knit groups appear to be more productive and active in the classroom. Have you already made some friends at the Academy? It is no secret that studying medicine is difficult. But “dif- ficult” does not mean “impossible”. All what you need is great motivation, self-organization, and ability to enjoy every moment of your life. Do you have them? If not, you can surely find them in the process! I am happy to become your teacher. Hope to see you soon in the classroom! Kindest regards, Professor A.
